God’s Promise to the Eunuchs is found in Isaiah 56:3-5. It says " Nor let the eunuch say, "Behold, I am a dry tree." For thus says the LORD, "To the eunuchs who keep My sabbaths, And choose what pleases Me, And hold fast My covenant, To them I will give in My house and within My walls a memorial, And a name better than that of sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name which will not be cut off.”

In Mathew 19:10-12 Jesus refers to three types of eunuchs, “His disciples said to Him, "If the relationship of the man with his wife is like this, it is better not to marry." But He said to them, "Not all men {can} accept this statement, but {only} those to whom it has been given. "For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother's womb; and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are {also} eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. He who is able to accept {this,} let him accept {it.}”

Paul commends a chaste lifestyle in First Corinthians 7,  “Now concerning the things about which you wrote, it is good for a man not to touch a woman. But because of immoralities, each man is to have his own wife, and each woman is to have her own husband…But this I say by way of concession, not of command. Yet I wish that all men were even as I myself am. However, each man has his own gift from God, one in this manner, and another in that. But I say to the unmarried and to widows that it is good for them if they remain even as I. But if they do not have self-control, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn {with passion.} …Now concerning virgins I have no command of the Lord, but I give an opinion as one who by the mercy of the Lord is trustworthy.  I think then that this is good in view of the present distress, that it is good for a man to remain as he is. Are you bound to a wife? Do not seek to be released. Are you released from a wife? Do not seek a wife…One who is unmarried is concerned about the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord; but one who is married is concerned about the things of the world, how he may please his wife, and {his interests} are divided. The woman who is unmarried, and the virgin, is concerned about the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and spirit; but one who is married is concerned about the things of the world, how she may please her husband. This I say for your own benefit; not to put a restraint upon you, but to promote what is appropriate and {to secure} undistracted devotion to the Lord…So then both he who gives his own virgin {daughter} in marriage does well, and he who does not give her in marriage will do better. A wife is bound as long as her husband lives; but if her husband is dead, she is free to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord. But in my opinion she is happier if she remains as she is; and I think that I also have the Spirit of God.

Wikipedia defines a eunuch as a castrated man; usually one castrated early enough to have major hormonal consequences.  The term usually refers to those castrated in order to perform a specific social function…In some translations of ancient texts, individuals identified as eunuchs sometimes historically included men who were impotent with women, as well as those who were celibate.

In Mathew, Christ is responding to an inquiry regarding marriage, ultimately Christ emphasizes celibacy for a select group.  In Corinthians, Paul also responds to an inquiry regarding marriage and continues to point to a more significant consideration, a life of celibacy, of which he personally identifies.

Neither Jesus nor Paul condemn married-life, in fact marriage is a sacred trust.  The interesting thing is both speak of those gifted for a single life.  They make a special point to emphasize the significance of a life unencumbered and wholly devoted to the Lord.

Who are those that God is establishing a memorial and a name more exalted than sons and daughters?  Where are the “eunuchs of the womb” or those gifted of God from birth, today?

Now, I know that I am the least qualified to speak on this subject, because I am a middle class, white heterosexual male.  However, is it possible that this elect group, which is set apart by God from birth, is being held captive?   Is Satan holding “eunuchs of the womb” hostage in homosexuality?  Many homosexuals claim to have known at an early age they were different, “those to whom it has been given”.  The western world is so preoccupied with sex; we cannot comprehend a chaste lifestyle.  Today, we may be heterosexual, bisexual, homosexual, but never, and now thanks to the drug industry no one should ever be, asexual.

So what would happen today if your child was “chosen by God” as a “Eunuch of the womb”?  How would their classmates receive them?  Would they be ridiculed?  Surely, it would not be a surprise to expect the “gay” label to appear.  How would they argue, “Oh, I’m just not interested in that.?!”

Later in life they might encounter a group, which they immediately identify as “kindred spirits”.  Possibly, a group hungry for love, a group hungry to give love.  How easy would it be for your child to say, “This must be what I was born to” and likewise, fall into captivity, a captivity of the truth regarding their true calling, which was to be wholly devoted to God?  A life singled out by God for a new “everlasting name” and a “memorial upon a wall” in God’s very kingdom!

What if there are those caught up in homosexuality today, unaware of God’s intentions for them?  Couldn’t they misconstrue God’s anointing for rejection?  What can we do?

If you look for truth, you may find comfort in the end; if you look for comfort you will not get either comfort or truth only soft soap and wishful thinking to begin, and in the end, despair. --C. S. Lewis
