"Look to God" -- Quiet Time 1.3Love God, look to God, seek God's will. God's will is for us to look to Him and love Him.
Times that are considered "walking through a valley" or "tough and uncertain" call for us to seek God's will and pray for him to reveal His will. Times that are considered "at a peak" or "going great" call for us to seek God's will and pray for him to reveal His will. This mirror effect, seeking God in tough and great times alike, creates a not only a good habit but a strong foundation. It is always more difficult to seek God when we feel like times are easy. Why is that?
Whether things are going well or not for us, does it change God the Creator? Does it change Jesus' life and death and resurrection on our turf? Does it change any of the absolute truths that are evident in our spiritual world? No.
God's blessings are not truly felt on earth. Our true blessings are in store for us. The few blessings we receive on this earth are temporal. The blessings we'll receive in Heaven are eternal.
So--Why forget about God during the good times? I don't want to know the answer to that, I'd rather just keep God first in my life and seek His company in my short walk on earth. It's not an easy task, it requires focus and it is supposed to be difficult. Each one of us has difficulty remembering that our purpose is tested everyday. Once we forget about our purpose, even for a minute, we take a step back.
Phillipians 2:13 says "for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose."
Keep moving forward in your walk with God and remember to put God first in all that you do. Follow His purpose and His will, and our purpose in this short life will become evident.
