Suffering
The base concept of a question would be that it is a line of inquiry.  This is rarely the case today, most questions are not to inquire, but for inquisition.  For example the question: “How can a loving God allow suffering?” is normally leveled by the agnostic rather than by a true believer.  In reality, few lose their faith as a result of suffering.  Christians typically encounter greater faith from suffering.
As in all questions of inquisition, the design is to limit the f ...

Memorializing October 15, 2016 events for future reference:
1) Bonfire at Grant's place after dark
2) Spiritual discussions and music (including Carmen's A Witch's Invitation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJiheZ3aEug)--Rick, Seth, Grant, Steve

God always shows up because He's ever present, and frankly I fail to remember to look around and see Him at times.  During our discussions this evening, I asked Rick a question that has been marinating internally a bit in recent mont ...
Ripe For Picking
At what time do boys become men or girls women?  When are we whole, or complete, according to our Maker?  The maturation process of the heart must be the determinant.  At what measure is the human heart ripe for the picking?
Ripe not only for God’s picking, but ripe for a bounty to those who are even yet in the process of ripening?  I have observed two close family members ripen in old age.  They were transformed undistinguishably from their vibrant youthful selves.  In fact, the vibrancy of th ...
Reality of Shapes and Shadows
There is an eternal drama that has been revealed before mankind. It began early and is revealed in the Old Testament; Hebrews Chapter 8 of the New Testament speaks of the transition of the drama from types and shadows to eternal reality in Jesus Christ.

Hebrews Chapter 8-Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which ...
Eternal Imperative
Many say there is absolutely no evidence of God. This perspective is generally held by those that have already concluded that there is no God (atheists).

One of the fundamental Biblical attributes of God is that God is eternal.  The opening statement of the Bible is “In the beginning God”.  This statement depicts God as having already been in the beginning.

When Moses was petitioning the release of the Israelites, God told Moses to identify Himself as the “I Am”.

Jesus later identifi ...

God the Family
What are the odds of finding a gold nugget on the sidewalks of New York City?  I’m not talking about a gold nugget that might have fallen from someone’s pocket. I’m talking about a huge rock in plain sight that people walked around repeatedly, yet apparently unaware of its presence.  What if I told you the nugget was on a sidewalk on Wall Street, and all the bankers and investor’s so-called “moneymen” walked around it in their quest for great riches?

Proportionately, what follows is even more ...
Doctrines of Dignity
Ecclesiastes 10:6 Folly is set in great dignity, and the rich sit in low place.

Habakkuk 1:7 They [are] terrible and dreadful: their judgment and their dignity shall proceed of themselves.

Dignity is viewed by most as an entitlement, a protocol of civil behavior.  Only barbarians ignore this civil protocol and strip their enemies of their dignity.

The Bible does not prescribe dignity, but rather love. We are to love our neighbors and value them in our hearts the way God este ...

If you look for truth, you may find comfort in the end; if you look for comfort you will not get either comfort or truth only soft soap and wishful thinking to begin, and in the end, despair. --C. S. Lewis
