I was reading the paper the other day and came across this article that was written by Max Meek of Springfield, MO.  I hope he doesn't mind me sharing this with you.  This is a copy of what he wrote.

"Did you ever wonder why the economy is in such poor shape? Ever wonder about Social Security's funding program, Big 3 auto companies going down, manufacturing lay offs or about so many foreclosed homes?  Surely, you have been wondering what are we going to do?
Some would say, "it's President Obama's fault", or "G.W.'s fault" or even "Bill Clintons' Fault".  In all reality, it is none of their faults.  It is our fault, mine and yours.  Let me explain.
Since 1973, from the beginning of the Roe vs. Wade era, we have destroyed approximately 55 million lives through the process of abortion.  We have eliminated 1/6 of the population (300 million) of the United States of America who would have become contributors to our economy.  Using simple logic, you would find 27.5 million people (half of the 55 million lives destroyed) would be candidates to purchase homes, automobiles, and many other durable goods that would keep the economy strong and growing.  Their employment would contribute to our Social Security system and to our Federal Tax base.  When we take 1/6 of the population away from contributing to our economy, we must see an adverse effect.  Also, I believe we are experiencing a shortage of doctors and nurses, and workers needed to manufacture and produce durable goods because of this very same problem.
Because of this dreadful sin, abortion, I believe with all my heart that God is bringing judgment upon the United States of America. Because of this sin we will all pay the consequences.
In order for America to return to her prosperity as a nation, we must repent of this sin and turn away from it and other sins that drag our nation down.
The Holy Bible (KJV) clearly states:
2 Chronicles 7:14: If my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land.
Galatians 6:7-8: Be not deceived God is not mocked; for whatsoever a man soweth, that he shall also reap.  For he soweth to the flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption (destruction).
My thought is not politically or religious motivated.  It is not about Democrats or Republicans, it is not a black or white issue, but an American issue.  We must as a nation choose to repent and turn away from this sin or continue to endure the righteous judgment of a Holy God.
The bottom line is this; whether you agree or disagree doesn't really matter.  What matters is: Numbers don't lie."

I my self have never really looked at abortion from an economical view.  It's pretty simple for me, it's wrong.  Like I said this is just one person's view, but it is something to ponder about.  What do yo think?

I definitely agree, and I, too, have never considered the economical ramifications of years and years of abortion!!  Not only have we missed the opportunities for growth, but just think of the endless brilliant minds, gifts and possible solutions to our society's additional ills that we are missing as well!

It is a shame, and the majority of the abortions today stem not from medical complications, lack of education, or poverty, because there have been years of offered solutions in those areas.  I'll go out on a limb and say that most of abortions today stem from selfishness, whether it be in the moment of passion (instant gratification) or the inconvenience of an unwanted child (either in the area of social embarrassment or lifestyle interruptions that a child can bring).

We as Christians are not to condemn the one who has had an abortion, but to offer the love of Christ and the forgiveness He alone can give.  Likewise, we must never accept the sin of abortion as an act that does not affect anyone but the woman who "exercises her personal rights of choice" either.  It does affect us all!!
